Hyde Park is student central; located just minutes away from the universities and city centre. There are a vast amount of student houses and flats throughout Hyde Park which have become some of the most popular housing choices!

Hyde Park has a great, lively atmosphere bursting with young energetic people from all corners. It has many independent stores, supermarkets, launderettes, pharmacies and even a few clothing shops, all the essentials right outside your front door!

What to do...

The prominent Woodhouse Moor, or often called ‘Hyde Park’ by its residents is one for all. Whether you just want to relax on the green grass or a play in park, fancy a kick about or a spot of basketball… Hyde Park is the place to be! It’s suited for family fun days as well as just a hangout spot for others! Watch out for big free events taking part in the park over summer! Hyde Park Unity Day is one not to miss; a day celebrating the people, culture and community of LS6. Unity day is filled with music, entertainment, food and drink from an array of multicultural backgrounds!

If you're wanting to check out of a bit of history; Hyde Park Picture House has been around for over a century making it one of the oldest cinemas in the UK! The building boasts beautiful interior and architecture! It doesn't just show the usual blockbuster either; it hosts performances, independent films and the classics. A lovely evening can be spent with your feet up watching your favourite flick!

How to get around...

Trains run regularly to the city centre from the nearby, Burley Park train station and there are good regular bus links to and from the centre as well. If you like to get out in the fresh air it's less than a 15 minute walk away from the universities and town!


Hyde Park is not short of restaurants, cafes and takeaways! Boss burgers, located off Brudenell Grove has gained a large following. To curb your burger cravings, this one's worth the visit. No stingy portions are served here, big meaty burgers stacked with goodness available till late!

Hangover food? Look no further. Just by Hyde Park corner you'll find the long running quirky café, LS6 which has the 'Mammoth breakfast' to help with those hangover hunger pangs!


Part of the infamous Otley Run pub crawl, we have the Hyde Park Pub situated on Hyde Park Corner! It's a busy pub, with cheap drinks, what more could you ask for?

On Queens Road you'll find the music venue and pub; Brudenell Social Club showcasing great musical talent from independent bands.
