Disputes with Builders

 1st April 2015

To guarantee efficient building work is carries out with minimal disputes, landlords should take an organised approach before work begins. Make sure the builder is reliable, contracting one who belongs to a trade association and set out a contract which clearly detaisl the terms of work including a timetable of completions.

Issues often arise during the building process and if the issue is small it is in both parties interst to reach an amicable solution. However if the dispute is larger a surveyor can be called upon to investigate the problems. Even though this can cost more, a sloution can be arrived at sooner.

A pre-determined contract should be devised before any building work commences. A contract can be referred to regarding any dispute you may have and as part of a strategy will save you time and money.
