Five reasons to move to Leeds
3rd January 2019
Leeds might not have the reputation of Manchester or Liverpool but it's a city that's ideal to live in for so many reasons. Here are just five...
University city - With three universities and loads of excellent student lets Leeds has always been a popular student destination. In fact last year it came third in the THES student satisfaction poll. Student lets Leeds are often highly ranked too, with a wide range of accommodation ensuring students can enjoy life outside the campus. But student happiness isn't the only reason Leeds is a great place to live.
Cultural city - Leeds doesn't just boast museums like the Thackery, it's rich in culture and also just a few minutes from some of the most beautiful, and most historical, British tourist spots such as the Yorkshire moors (home of the Bronte sisters) and Fountains Abbey. Houses in Leeds reflect this diversity, giving those moving to the area a wide range of properties to rent, so everybody can find what they are looking for.
Market city - Kirkgate indoor market is world famous, 100,000 people visit it every week and it's not just a great place to find bargains, it's the home of Marks and Spencer and therefore has a Marks and Spencer market stall which is unique in the world. But Leeds also has a great farmers' market on the first and third Sunday of every month so it really is a market city.
Community city - back in 2008 Leeds was voted the best city for single women to go out on the town, and the only reason (we think) that it hasn't continued to win the vote every year is that the survey hasn't been repeated! Leeds is known for its diversity and it's the second largest financial centre after London, making this a great place to work, rest and play. Houses to rent in Leeds allow young professionals to find their feet in the city without having to commit to a mortgage.
Lifestyle city - finally, Leeds is known for its chilled, happy atmosphere that makes living here a very relaxed experience. Why not come and find out for yourself?
